The Biggest Challenge for Today's Investor Script: (004)

Recently I wanted to know more about a particular topic. I saw a discussion on TV, and I thought…hmm… that's interesting…I want to know more.

I pulled out my trusty smartphone and Googled the topic. Soon I had pages and pages of information. Finally, after reading for a while, my eyes started to glaze over, and by the end, I was unsure if I had more clarity or just more information.

That is perhaps the biggest challenge for investors today…too much information! Could there be a simpler way to look at your money?

I love how Ron Blue addresses four simple categories in his book Never Enough.

Here are the four categories:

1. Live: What does it take to live your daily life? Think mortgage, rent, utilities, and other expenses.

2. Give: How are you giving to others? What is your strategy for generosity?

3. Owe: What do you owe in debt and taxes? Minimizing this slice allows you to make other areas a little larger.

4. Grow: How are you saving for the future? Include your investments, retirement accounts, and other areas that help you prepare for the future you envision.

Could it be that simple?

Ron Blue thinks so…and, so do I.
