4 Rules for the Financial Road You Are On Script: (006)

Although it would be nice, I've learned there is no reverse in life. You can't redo the past, but you can change your future. What you do from this point forward makes the difference.

Where do you want to end up in this season of your life? Without a plan, you will probably drift to an unexpected destination. So here are four simple tips for your financial road trip:

  1. Don't travel alone. Successful people surround themselves with a team. As a financial advisor, I love to be the quarterback and coordinate efforts with your lawyer and CPA as needed.

  2. Choose a destination but plan your stops along the way. Refuel, get food, and stretch your legs. In essence, celebrate your wins and make adjustments as needed. Small steps can lead to progress over time that might be bigger than you expect.

  3. Pay attention to the signs. A map or GPS is great at keeping you on time and on course. Make sure you have ways to measure your progress. Goals have to be measurable. As a Financial Advisor, that's our role to help you pay attention to the signs.

  4. Don't carry unnecessary baggage. Don't let past experiences limit your future dreams. The best way to get rid of unnecessary baggage is to DEAL with it. The worse thing you can do is ignore it. Small problems become bigger problems left unaddressed.

These four simple steps will go a long way to make your financial roadtrip successful.
